The big picture

You are an experienced editor with the ability to take a bundle of raw footage and shape it into a high quality project based on the scripts and/or creative direction provided. We need your creativity and technical prowess to help deliver amazing content across all the screens big and small.

What you’ll be doing

  • Partnering with directors, creatives and producers to understand the editorial needs of a project and advise on best practices
  • Ingesting and organizing dailies
  • Performing video and audio editing based on creative direction, scripts and/or boards
  • Cutting video sequences effectively to ensure the scenes are seamless and flow logically (or illogical if that’s the right direction)
  • Recording scratch avo and rough audio mixes as needed
  • Providing finishing services such as basic color grading, final assembly, mastering, distribution of assets and archiving
  • Managing post-production efforts and workflow across disciplines
  • Mentoring post-production interns, assistants and junior editors

What you bring to the table

  • 5+ years of experience editing in an advertising environment at a post house or agency
  • 3+ years of experience working directly with clients and agency partners
  • A strong sense of editorial timing and storytelling
  • The ability to think like a filmmaker and edit like a storyteller
  • Simple animation, titles and design ability
  • Basic audio mixing skills and how to balance levels
  • A keen understanding of post production workflow and media management
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • The ability to work collaboratively within a group and independently
  • Additional design, post-production and/or production skills are a strong asset (such as motion graphics, colorist, prop stylist, photographer,  cameraperson, director, baker, tinker, tailor, soldier, spy)
